Lorelei has been sporting these new drawers of late called "G diapers." They're a cloth/disposable hybrid. So, there's a reusable cloth outer pant and inner plastic liner, but instead of a cloth insert, there are special disposable pads. The disposable part is certified 100% biodegradable. This means they won't sit in a landfill for 500 years as the plastic disposable variety do. Better yet, they're flushable which means not only less stink around the house but also that the poo isn't in a landfill where the bacteria and viruses can pose a health hazard or contaminate ground water. Not only that, after the mess goes to the wastewater treatment facility, the harmful elements are removed and valuable nutrients are recovered and utilized as biosolids, a valuable fertilizer. Biosolids are often used on tree farms to help grow trees. It's all very sustainable which makes the earth happy:)
Oh, and they're cute to boot! Check out these photos...
*** Stay tuned. We recently bought a new camera. It's incredibly fancy but the kicker is the shutter speed is so much faster that we're much more able to capture cute smiles rather than bewilderment/suspicion which is Lorelei's general reaction to a bright flash in her face:)
Those diapers sound super cool. Way to do your research mama! What does the "G" stand for?....
