Friends

Here are a couple shots from Lorelei's first play date. The rather forward little girl in pink is Elliana. She belongs to our friends Kristian and Amanda. (It's worth noting that Sean calls Kristian's wife "Number Two" as in "Amanda Two." She's much more tolerant than I am, and in fact even appeases him by responding to this oh- so- flattering moniker.)  This is their third child and they are great advertising for big families. I get such a kick out of their boys. For instance...

The first time I met them (actually about five minutes after meeting them) I read them a bedtime story. When I went to go downstairs so that Amanda could put them to bed, I heard this exchange:

Kiddo: Mommy, I miss her. (*I'm actually still in the hallway at this point*)

Amanda: I know but she'll come visit again sometime.

Kiddo: But Mommy, I love her!

On this visit, I was talking to their eldest and asked how he liked his younger brother. 

He opened with: He's alright. Sometimes I'm mean to him 

Me: Why? 

Him: Because sometimes he ruins my stuff and that makes me feel bad. Then I want him to feel bad. 

(*Pretty insightful for four, right?*)

Anyway, it will be fun to see how Elliana's personality fits in with the crew...

 At first Lila wasn't sure... 

 Yes... definitely rethinking the wardrobe.
