We're Drenched!

... from showers, that is. We knew we had some pretty incredible people in our lives but somehow we've still been blown away by the generosity and kindness raining down on us and baby.

First, my friend Lisa single handedly threw me a shower with all my work friends. I shudder when I think of how many days she must have spent cooking. She had an amazing Mexican spread complete with homemade guacamole, Spanish rice, tomales and a taco bar. Knowing my biggest craving has been rice crispy bars, she even made a batch of pink and blue marshmallow goodness. Here are some photos...

The spread. It's worth noting that Lisa has a one year old daughter and a full time job caring for many, many felons who at times make toddlers seem low maintenance. Can we agree Lisa is incredible?
She made this "cake" centerpiece...
and ordered this one and it was delicious!
Lisa had everyone make a baby book using art supplies. Then my friend Geoff's bright, funny seven-year-old Samuel read everyone's book aloud while their present was being opened. He had everyone cracking up- reassuring to see how well this whole procreation project can go:)
Our child is going to be the best dressed member of the family, hands down.
Then, as if we weren't already knee deep in onesies and warm fuzzies, my aunts Peg and Linda and cousin Lindsey put on an incredible shower. Peg and Lindsey decorated the house using cute little outfits on clothesline and even made a "flower" centerpiece with rolled up baby booties. Every detail was perfect. The food was all "baby" themed from the baby croissant sandwiches to the baby cheesecakes. (*Kicking myself for not taking photos of the table- it was lovely) Knowing the nursery theme, they even had everyone bring a baby book to add to the library. Here are some photos of the event!
The ladies chatting
I included this one only to showcase the cute decor in the background.
My cousin Katrina actually made this quilt. I'm pretty proud when I manage to make the bed.  She clearly hogged all of the creative genes in the family...
Again, Sean and I are going to look shluppy next to our fashion plate babe.
